stageCheer

Privacy policy

This page explains what information stageCheer collects, why, and how you can control it. In short: we collect what we need to run the app — your account details, the events and activity you create, and basic technical data — and we don't sell it.

What we collect

  • Account information: your name, email address, and the role you sign up as (organizer, performer, volunteer, sponsor, or fan).
  • Profile details you choose to add: a profile photo, a short bio, links to your social accounts, up to three video links (YouTube, Instagram, TikTok or Facebook) and up to six images. Images are shrunk on your device before they are uploaded, which removes hidden details such as where a photo was taken. An organizer can also store a tax-exempt ID, which is optional and shown only if they choose to show it.
  • Content you create: events (public, unlisted, or private drafts), proposals, tasks, messages between organizers and sponsors, circle and tour details, and any images you upload (like a sponsor logo).
  • Approximate location: the city you search in, which we remember as your default. In the mobile app we first guess your city from your internet address (IP address) until you choose one. On the website, if you allow it, your device's location is used once to find your city and is not stored.
  • Reports and blocks: the reports you send (what you reported and why) and the people you block. Blocks are private to you.
  • Activity: RSVPs, favorites, task assignments, sponsorship requests and their status, and what you share and where (platform and click counts only — never who clicked).
  • Payment activity, only if a payment feature is turned on: the amount and status of a contribution or sponsor payment. Card numbers are never seen or stored by us — Stripe, our payment processor, handles that directly.
  • Basic technical data: sign-in sessions, and, for shared links, a short-lived cookie used to credit a referral (see Cookies below).

How we use it

  • To run your account and show you the events, tasks, and requests relevant to your role.
  • To send account-related email (password resets, invites, confirmations) through our email provider.
  • To process payments, only if that feature is turned on, through Stripe.
  • To keep the app secure and working — for example, admins can see aggregate usage to fix problems, not to read your private messages.

Who we share it with

  • Supabase — hosts our database and handles sign-in.
  • Vercel — hosts our website.
  • ipapi.co — in the mobile app, receives your IP address to guess your city when you have not chosen one yet. Nothing else about you is sent.
  • OpenStreetMap (Nominatim) — on the website, if you allow your device's location, receives your coordinates once to turn them into a city name.
  • YouTube (Google) — only if you press play on a YouTube video on a profile or help page. Nothing is loaded from YouTube before you press play. Instagram, TikTok and Facebook video links open in their own app.
  • Stripe — processes payments, when that feature is on. Stripe has its own privacy policy for the card details it handles.
  • Resend — sends account-related email on our behalf.

We don't sell your data.

Cookies

We use a cookie to keep you signed in, and, only if you follow a shared event link, a separate 30-day cookie that credits the click to whoever shared it. Neither is used for advertising, and we don't use third-party ad trackers.

Your rights

  • You choose who can open your profile. By default only people signed in to stageCheer can. If you turn on "Let anyone with my link see my profile" in Settings, anyone who has your link can see your name, @username, role, background, links, videos, images and upcoming public events without signing in. It is never shown in search engines, never shows your email or phone, and you can turn it off at any time. A poster you download from your profile is a picture you can share anywhere, and we cannot take it back from where you share it.
  • You can see and edit most of your own information directly in Settings.
  • You can delete your account yourself: open Settings and choose Delete account, in the app or on the website. It takes effect after a 30-day grace period (details on the Delete your account page). If you can't sign in, ask support to do it for you. Some records tied to a completed payment may be kept as required by law.
  • You can ask what data we hold on you the same way.

The steps, and what is and isn't removed, are on the Delete your account page.
