Delete your account
You can delete your stageCheer account yourself at any time. Nothing is removed the moment you tap delete: your account is hidden straight away and kept for 30 days in case you change your mind, then the personal parts are cleared for good.
How to delete it
- Sign in, in the app or on the website.
- Open Settings and scroll to Delete account.
- Confirm it's you. If you sign in with a password, enter it. If you sign in with Google or Apple, sign in again if asked (it has to be within the last 10 minutes) and type DELETE.
- Choose Delete account. We email you to confirm the request, and the email says how to undo it.
Already signed in? Go to Settings.
What happens next
- Right away: you're signed out, and your account no longer shows up in search or when other people pick someone to invite or assign.
- For 30 days: nothing is erased. Sign in again at any time in that window and you'll be offered the choice to restore your account exactly as it was.
- After 30 days: your profile photo, images, video links, bio, social links, other links, tax-exempt details, saved search preferences, notifications, favorites and assistant chats are deleted. Your name is replaced with "Deleted account", your sign-in email address is replaced with a placeholder, and signing in to the account is switched off for good.
What we keep
- Events you organized stay as they are. Public events stay public and become past events once their date passes, with the organizer shown as "Deleted account". If you want an event gone, unpublish or delete it before you delete your account.
- Proposals, tasks and circles you took part in. Those are a shared record of things that happened, and other people rely on them, so they stay, but your name on them becomes "Deleted account" and no longer links to a profile.
- Sponsorship records between you and another person, which are kept unchanged as a shared history.
- Records tied to a completed payment or a sponsorship are kept where the law requires it, for up to 7 years, and then deleted.
- Emails you sent to support are kept as correspondence unless you ask us to delete them.
How long it can linger
- Backups: we keep a weekly archive of our database for 8 weeks. Data you deleted can remain in an archive for up to about 8 weeks, and if an archive is ever restored we run the deletions again before anyone uses it.
- Website logs: our host keeps short-lived technical logs, about 30 minutes on our current plan. They are not used to rebuild your account.
- Companies that run parts of stageCheer for us: Supabase (database and sign-in), Vercel (website hosting) and Resend (email). Your account data is erased from our database at day 30. Copies those companies hold follow their own retention schedules.
